This delicious beverage is blended from organic activated lion’s mane and reishi mushrooms, eleuthero root, burdock root, chicory root, roasted dandelion root and a smidge of star anis and cinnamon for love! It’s super easy to make nice and frothy at home just the way we make it in the shop. Unlike coffee drinks, there is no caffeine or even coffee, by contrast it is nutritively stimulating to both the brains…the “gut brain” and the one on top of your neck!
For froth, blitz the mushroom mix, water and plant milk in a blender, THEN brew in a covered sauce pan on the stove. This order prevents heat explosions in the blender! It takes a heaping tsp of the mushroom mix to 8 oz of water or water and a plant based milk heated on the stove. Blend to make it frothy!
Lion’s mane mushroom is a tropho restorative nootropic that contains nerve growth factor which contributes to the plasticity of the nerve pathways in the brain, it also stimulates circulation bringing blood and nutrients to the brain. This mushroom has long been used in the treatment of dementia, seizures, memory and cognition. Like all the mushrooms, it is beneficial to the immune system as well.
Reishi has been lovingly referred to as the “mushroom of immortality” by Chinese cultures for thousands of years. Up to the task of modernity, this magnificent mushroom has been scientifically proven to have 100s of distinct compounds, like posysaccharides and triterpenes, which contribute to immuno defense mechanisms and preventative oxidization and inflammation management. We see evidence of its use as a preventative immune tonic with its specific use to counter chronic lung conditions, like asthma, and thus its organ affinity for the lungs. But it’s currently and historically lauded for everything!
Chicory and dandelion is a classic combination for coffee substitutes you may have tried in New Orleans and other places in the south. Chicory and dandelion are both inulin rich prebiotic roots that support the liver while helping the digestive system by giving the bioflora in the body safe food to enrich the existence of this garden and the beneficial contributions of the bioflora on major systems of the body, like immune, nervous, and digestive systems.

Earthy roots fortify the flavor of this ultra soothing and nutritive elixir while barks, seeds, & fruits elevate the tone to match the conversation of the plants within our bodies. It is made from organic roots of ashwagandha, astragalus, burdock & dandelion along with cardamom pods, chia seeds, whole lemon & cinnamon bark.
Ashwagandha is a wonderful adaptagen, nervine & tropho-restorative root from the ayurvedic tradition. In laymen’s terms, it’s nutritious and maintains the structural integrity of the nerves, even in times of stress. Feelings of exhaustion, burnout and chronic fatigue are examples of when it would be especially helpful to drink. (Still, we recommend taking actual care of yourself and coordinating your life to avoid burnout as much as possible—you’re worth it!) Ashwagandha is a nightshade, so if you have sensitivities to nightshades, this drink may not be for you. There are other herbs, adaptogenic ones—like our Lion’s Mane Mushroom Coffee! Astragalus is the other pillar of this formulation and is also in the ayurvedic and Chinese medicine traditions. Astragalus is used to support the immune system before and after being acutely ill. Dandelion root supports liver clearance and chia seeds boost the flow of the cardiovascular system. Cinnamon helps to moisten, alongside astragalus, and keeps the vibe warm. Lemon for good, tasty vitamin c measure.
Enjoy as an herbal latte or just straight with water.
1 heaping tsp brewed in 8 oz of liquid—we like 1/3 oat milk and 2/3 good water. If you’ve got an immersion blender or something, a little blitz with that makes it nice and frothy!

Our take on the popular ayurvedic turmeric drink is particularly warming and soothing…it definitely has pumpkin pie vibes if you add a little sweetener. We like to brew it in half water and half plant milk and follow it up with a quick blitz in the blender for that satisfying froth!
